Ate at Azteca Mexican Cuisine & Bar last night. Had the shrimp linguine and enchiladas divorciadas—both were genuinely good. Linguine runs small, enchiladas are hearty. Service was quick, staff was on point, and the place has a comfortable vibe. It’s a bit on the pricey side for what you get, but the food and experience were solid overall.

My order: Drinks – I had the Benito and the Durango. The Benito was great, well-balanced and flavorful. The Durango, on the other hand, leaned a bit too sweet—more like a mocktail—and I barely tasted the gin. Food – We ordered the Camarones a la Diabla and Pulpo Glaseado a las Brasas. Portions were very small. Flavor-wise, they were okay—not bad, but nothing memorable. For the same price, you could definitely have a better meal at a Michelin-rated spot in Tulum. Overall, I think is worth to try once but I don’t think I’ll be coming back for a second meal.

Azteca is one of those restaurants I visit once every few weeks. I love the “Viaje por México” experience. If you are looking for a special place with exceptional food, this is one of my favorite Mexican Fusion restaurants :) I can totally recommend the Medaillons and the Elote Cake! The coconut drink (non-alcoholic) is fantastic too!

Managed by two kind Salvadoran brothers who came from the USA to support their country of birth, Azteca has the perfect fusion between high-end mexican-salvadoran cuisine and a glamorous artistic ambient --ideal for those who enjoy exploring vibrant and sophisticated flavors in an immersive experience. This is a must-visit place.

If you’re looking for an exceptional Mexican dining experience in San Salvador, this is the place! The food was amazing, and the drinks were even better. We tried the Tour of Mexico, a six-course meal that showcased a variety of delicious, authentic flavors. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of bold, vibrant tastes. The ambiance was great, and the service was excellent. While it’s not the cheapest option, the quality and experience make it absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great food and a well-crafted dining experience!

Service was amazing, the food was incredible as well as the drinks. We had several of their appetizers, even ordered some twice! Vibe was nice, upscale restaurant in this area. I can’t wait to go back when I’m in town!

Thank you Kevin for your exceptional hospitality and great stories on El Salvador and Central American families. Food was excellent and we also enjoyed a great wine from Chile. We certainly come back again. Cheers Peter and the gang

Azteca Mexican in San Salvador might have actually ruined margaritas for me everywhere else. That red hot mezcalita? Hands down the best drink I had during my entire stay spicy, smoky, citrusy perfection. Self proclaimed Mexican food expert here, and I nearly cried into my salted rim. The lomo de res with salsa de tamarindo was next level. It literally melted in my mouth. Whoever came up with that combo deserves an award and a raise. Don’t even think about skipping the guac. And please, for the love of sweet corn, order the pan de elote for dessert. It’s not just cake it’s a warm, buttery hug from my ancestors. This menu is so creative and fresh it’s not your usual cookie cutter “same tacos, different day” Mexican spot. Azteca is in its own lane, and honestly, I’m just mad I don’t live close enough to eat here weekly.
